TEC Equipment Library
The assistive technology offered through the TEC center is available free of charge for anyone to view or try in our office. Weighted spoons, medication reminders, books for the visually impaired, an adapted mouse for the computer, a communication device and many other items are available for people with a variety of disabilities. No specific diagnosis is necessary. Assistive technology is used by people of all ages and all abilities to be more independent, to conserve energy, to participate in community activities and to improve quality of life.

Our view by choosing one of the following groups:
- ADL: aides to daily living; meal prep, grooming, medication management, etc.
- BOK: books, cassettes, and videos
- COG: tools for organization and learning skills; day planners, timers, calculators
- COM: communication aides; picture symbols, voice output/computer based devices
- CPO: computer software; literacy, games, accessibility programs, on-screen keyboards
- CPT: computer hardware; keyboards, mouseware, touchscreens
- FM: fine motor; writing aides, adapted scissors and utensils
- GM: gross motor; swings, adapted bikes, adaptive physical education equipment
- HER: hearing impaired; visual environmental signals, TTY equipment
- MOB: mobility; walkers, wheelchairs, crutches
- POS: positioning; corner chairs, standers, car seats, ergonomic equipment
- REC: recreational items; games, sports equipment, floatation devices
- SEN: sensory items; weighted vests and blankets, vibrating pillows, fidget toys
- STT: switch adapted toys and items; games, fans, cameras, tape recorders
- SWT: switches and mounting systems
- TOY: toys; infant, toddler, pre-school, school age
- VIS: visually impaired; magnifiers, Braille games, talking devices
The Library offers both a MAC and a PC computer available to try the software and hardware adaptations. We offer a variety of mouseware, keyboards, touch windows, voice recognition technology and software solutions.
Interns/Students
TEC depends on student interns to maintain the services we provide. Students have been accepted from a variety of local colleges. Occupational therapy students, early childhood students, computer access, social work, and rehab engineering have all had successful placements at the TEC center.
